Biodiversity of South Tipperary Survey
Biodiversity of South Tipperary, have your say Biodiversity is short for ‘biological diversity’ and means the variety of all living things on earth, including all plants, animals and micro-organisms. Some other words that are used to describe biodiversity include: flora and fauna; wildlife; habitats; ecosystems; ecology, natural heritage or nature. It is the basis for all life and helps sustain us by providing food, pollination, medicines, raw materials, clean air and water, and beautiful countryside.
South Tipperary County Council Heritage Office is drawing up a Biodiversity Action Plan and needs your input to make it work. The five-year plan will include an overview of biodiversity in the county and actions to help look after it.
