    South Tipperary County Council continues to be one of the largest employers in the county with a staff of 562 which includes administrative, professional, technical, craft grades, and general operative and related grades. The functions of the Personnel Department are broadly:

    • Development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
    • Staff Recruitment.
    • Industrial Relations
    • The development and implementation of staff training programmes.
    • Maintenance of personnel records.

    Industrial Relations
    The Council works in partnership with unions and staff representatives to achieve harmonious working relationships and improved working conditions with effective and efficient work practices.

    A booklet was issued to all staff containing the Councils policies on:

    • Equal Opportunities and Sexual Harassment
    • Bullying and Harassment
    • Stress.
    • Staff Support.
