Information Technology Systems
The role of the section is to support the implementation of local government services through the provision of IT systems and services. In parallel, the section has identified a set of objectives that are aligned to strategies outlined in the Corporate Plan.
Objectives
- To provide reliable qualitative, innovative and cost effective information technology solutions.
- To promote the adoption of online service throughout the county.
- To ensure all staff/elected representatives have access to the appropriate ICT skills, systems and equipment.
- To develop and implement information systems that will make a positive contribution to the decision making process.
- To provide a secure and efficient ICT infrastructure.
Services
- The ongoing development of the websites and the intranet.
- Developing information systems to aid decision making.
- Implementing ICT policies and procedures.
- Providing IT training to staff and councillors
- Systems maintenance & technical support.
- Managing the computer & telecommunications networks.
- Supporting and maintaining all software applications.
- Participating in E-government initiatives.
- Developing and implementing GIS applications.
- Security/Risk and Contingency Planning.
