How to Make a Complaint
If you have a complaint that falls within the categories above or about environmental protection matters that fall within the remit of South Tipperary County Council, please contact the Council directly and make your complaint in writing using the word form below, use the web form by clicking the link below or alternatively contact the Environment Section on 1800 20 26 27 When making a complaint via the telephone please give as much information regarding the complaint as possible to assist the inspecting officer, always give your name and a valid contact number.

Air Pollution
S
uch as burning of rubbish, dust, smoke, and odours

Animal Complaints
Dogs, Horses,Carcasses, Vermin/Pests A member of the public can make a complaints regarding excessive barking of dogs to the district court by making an application under Section 25 of the Control of Dogs Act, 1987. The form can be downloaded below.

Derelict Sites
Report a derelict site Illegal Dumping-Litter, Dumping of Rubbish.

Noise
The ENFO Website has good information regarding noise complaints.

Waste Complaints
Regarding commercial waste activities such as Waste Permitted Facilities, Movement of Waste, Landspreading of Waste Sludges/Sewage.

Water Complaints
Such as water pollution from agricultural, industrial/commercial or domestic activities.

Anonymous Complaints
Anonymous complaints can be difficult to deal with, as there is often a need to contact the complainant for clarification on details. Depending on the environmental risk, an anonymous complaint may or may not be dealt with.
A complainants’ identity can be protected under the Freedom of Information Act once the complainant has requested that their identity be kept confidential.
