Regional Waste Plan
The six constituent Local Authorities in the South East region commissioned the development of the Joint Waste Management Plan in order to combat the growing waste problem in the South East.
This problem can be attributed mainly to the lack of appropriate licensed facilities in the region, an increase in the level of waste produced and a lack of appropriate waste management behaviour. It is intended that this plan will form the basis of waste management best practice for the next 20 years, with a review every five years.
