In the case of a protected structure minor works i.e. repairs works, can be carried out without planning permission only if the works would not affect the character of the structure or any element of the structure that contributes to its special interest. A Section 57(2) Declaration from South Tipperary County Council will inform the owner/occupier as to the type of works which would or would not materially affect the character of the structure.
South Tipperary County Council will, in general, issue such a declaration within twelve weeks of receiving a request. Please complete the Request for Section 57 Declaration Form and return to the Planning Section accompanied by all supporting information.(
